About Us

The Bell County PRCA Rodeo originated in February 1988, when three cowboys had a vision of supporting the Youth of Bell County.  Chairman Johnny Boren along with Charles Fleming and WC Evans held the first Bell County Youth Fair & Livestock Show & PRCA Rodeo in the Bell County Expo Center featuring well-known entertainer, Red Steagell and Stock Producer, Bernis Johnson of B-J Rodeo Company.  The rodeo would be held in conjunction with the Bell County Youth Fair & Livestock Show each year with net proceeds from the Rodeo benefiting the Youth of Bell County.

Throughout the years, the rodeo has grown not only under the direction of Johnny Boren, Charles Fleming and WC Evans but with great leadership with John & Paula Rose, Sam Best, Tina Butler, Duane Biels and numerous volunteer committee members.  We have experienced various professional stock producers such as Donny Gay's All Star Rodeo Company, Bad Company Rodeo, Harper and Morgan Rodeo Company up to the most recent being Sammy Andrews, Andrews Rodeo Company.

In reviewing how funds were distributed, the Rodeo Committee decided to join the scholarship team and in lieu of donating to point money, made the decision to donate all net proceeds to the Bell County Youth Scholarship Program.  Through our dynamic sponsors and spectators, the Rodeo supports scholarships for qualifying students across Bell County. These “life-changing” awards are the result of endless hours of planning and work by many volunteers who truly care about the youth of Bell County and strive to both teach and preserve the western culture that so dominates the landscape of the great State of Texas.

On Behalf of the entire Rodeo Committee, we invite you to participate in supporting the youth of Bell County by attending our Rodeo or becoming a sponsor of this worthwhile event. For sponsorship opportunities, please visit our SPONSORS page.
